Built in 1937 at the Doncaster Works, No. 60007 “Sir Nigel Gresley” is one of the world-famous A4 Pacifics designed by Sir Nigel Gresley himself — the legendary Chief Mechanical Engineer of the LNER. Named in honour of its designer, “Sir Nigel Gresley” spent decades hauling express trains on the East Coast Main Line, including the famous “Flying Scotsman” service.
