About GWR 2807:
Built in 1905 at Swindon Works, 2807 is one of the oldest surviving Great Western Railway locomotives, part of the 2800 Class designed by George Jackson Churchward for heavy freight duties. Seeing service during both world wars, the locomotive took part in coal trains to the Grand Fleet during WWI. Withdrawn from BR service in 1963, it was rescued from Woodham Scrapyard and restored by dedicated volunteers. It was sold to Cotswold Steam Preservation Limited and delights crowds at her home on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway.
