Breathe life into your wall with this evocative winter’s morning scene of the unique T3 Class No. 563 at Nordon Common during the Swanage Winter Steam Gala 2026. Crisp winter light, rising steam, and the elegant Victorian silhouette of this rare express passenger locomotive make this print an irresistible addition for enthusiasts of classic British steam. A moment that captures both the beauty of heritage railways and the enduring spirit of steam.

Designed by the eminent Victorian engineer William Adams and built at Nine Elms Works in 1893, the London and South Western Railway (LSWR) T3 Class was among the finest express passenger 4-4-0 steam locomotives of its era. Twenty of these graceful machines were originally constructed, but today No. 563 stands alone as the sole survivor of its class.

During its working life with LSWR and later the Southern Railway, No. 563 faithfully hauled express trains, covering more than 1.5 million miles before its withdrawal from service in 1945
