Winter Steam Wonderland

from £36.00
The newly returned to steam GWR 14xx Class No1450 is seen making her Severn Valley Gala return during a very wintry scene just south of Bewdley in January 2025. No1450 can be seen with Pannier No.7714 as the two work a passenger service during the Winter Steam Gala.

No1450 is part of the 14xx class of tank locomotives designed to work small branch lines in the Great Western region. She was originally numbered 4850 but was renumbered to her current number 1450 in 1946. 1450 spent the last part of her working life in the South West of England after working in Slough and Oxford previous to this. She was withdrawn from service in 1965 after a total of 823,012 miles done in GWR and BR service.
1450 carried on her initial part of her preserved life where she had ended her working life at the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. 1450 has had two further stints on the mainline in 1973 and 1988. The loco now resides at the Severn Valley Railway.
